The culmination of over 20 years of support to farmers across the North of England, Northern Agri Consulting  was established by Neil Carter in January 2026.

Having studied Agriculture at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, Neil began as a trainee consultant with ADAS for 4 years, before spending 15 years with SAC Consulting.

During his time with SAC, Neil was focussed on bringing the strong support network offered to Scottish Farmers down into the North of England. After a 3.5 year spell as a Rural Associate with GSC Grays, Neil has now launched Northern Agri Consulting, which aims to offer professional advice to farmers in a rapidly changing landscape for the industry.

Neil grew up on the family dairy farm in Lancashire. Encouraged by his father, Neil went off to University in the knowledge that a small family farm could not support 3 generations at that time, a situation that has only intensified in the intervening 20 years.

At Northern Agri Consulting, we understand the blood, sweat and tears that go into running a farming business, and our aim is to take some of the strain to allow businesses to thrive.
